• 9th Grade Honors Placement

     

    Mathematics

    Students who wish to enter an honors mathematics class must meet certain criteria, one of which is a qualifying score on an honors placement test. To qualify to take the honors placement test, a student in grade eight must meet six out of the following eight criteria:

    • Three previous years' MCAS scores should be 530 and over (grades 5 out of 7)

    • Total points on Continental Math League tests should be at least 18 out of a possible 30 total points

    • Score on the New England Math League test should be at least 20 out of 35 questions

    • An average grade of A for terms 1 and 2
