13 CPS Middle School Singers Selected For the 2019 Massachusetts Music Educators Association
(MMEA) All-State Treble Chorus! The Chelmsford Schools Fine and Performing Arts Department is proud to announce that 13 students from Chelmsford were selected to be part of this year’s Massachusetts Music Educator’s Association (MMEA) All State Treble Chorus! The All State Treble Chorus showcases the talent of some of the state’s youngest singers. This program is offered by the MMEA as an enrichment opportunity providing a musical experience to talented young people. Participating students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their artistry and to create new friendships. Auditions for the Chorus were open to students in grades 4-6 whose teachers are members of MMEA, and audition recordings were submitted online. All of the CPS student applicants prepared for auditions with Choral Teacher Jodi Richardson. The students who were accepted to the festival will rehearse with guest conductors and then perform in a concert at the annual MMEA Conference in Boston on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Marianna Parnas-Simpson, whose elementary student choir won a Grammy award in 2002, will be the conductor of this year’s All State Treble Chorus. Special thanks to the Chelmsford Friends of Music, which provides financial support for the CPS students to participate in the All State Treble Chorus.

Attendance Hotline
-
If your child will be home from school, please call us at 251-5133 and dial "4100", or email us at ParkerAttendance@chelmsford.k12.ma.us to report your child absent. If you do not call in, our office will issue a ConnectEd message to the families of all absent students whose parent has not called in. It will be a generic message indicating that your child is absent and to please call back or send in a note the next day to insure that the absence is recorded as an excused absence instead of an unexcused absence. The last part of the message urges you to contact immediately if you believe our call to be an error.
