Welcome to Parker School Counseling

Thanks for visiting our site.

mmm We hope to provide valuable resources for parents and students. Each month, we will provide a topic for discussion and we encourage both students and parents to contribute to our blog so we can better understand and serve our students. This month, we're focusing on stress. Please visit our blog.

Also, on the right, you will find the guidance calendar and helpful links and informative web sites about mental health and wellness. Our calendar will post all guidance related presentations and events.

In addition, visit our web pages below for resources specific to the families we serve. If you ever have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to call or email. You can link directly to our emails on the right.

Looking forward to working with you,
Mrs. Dolan and Mrs. MacIsaac

Mission Statement

Our Middle School School Counseling Department is a support system to help your student negotiate the middle school years, a time of great physical, mental and emotional change. We support students in a variety of ways, including individual, group and classroom settings.

Roles and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Counseling and support to students and families
  • Transition at all grade levels
  • New student orientation
  • Pre-referral and intervention
  • Consultation with parents, students, teachers, administrators and outside agencies

Scheduling: Grade 8 to 9

  • Eighth grade teachers will finalize all course recommendations before March 12th.  The scheduling portal opens to students on March 12th and will remain open through March 23rd.  Please note, if a student is interested in overriding the teacher’s course recommendation, they must complete and submit an override form to their counselor by March 23rd.  Override requests will not be accepted after the 23rd .

Students can access their course recommendations by logging into X2, click on the horizontal “My Info” tab, then click on the “Requests” side tab on the left.

Parents can access their child’s course recommendations by logging into X2, click on the horizontal “Family” tab, then click on the “Schedule” side tab on the left, and then click on “Requests”.

There is a glitch in X2.  To avoid having your classes show up twice, please follow this rule:
-Do not hit the “Select” tab to the left of the teacher’s recommendation.  The recommendation is viewable once you log in so there is no need to “Select” it. (NOTE:  If you hit “Select” and check off and ok the request, that will make all courses show up twice.)

Please review the Scheduling Instructions and Scheduling Worksheet for additional information.  The “Grade 8 Scheduling Instructions for 2015-16” and the “Program of Studies” are available here:

I encourage families to review the program of studies and elective choices before your student works with me on X2 in the computer lab.  I will be in the lab with Team 8-1 on Monday, March 16th and with Team 8-2 on Wednesday, March 18.  I look forward to working with them on their schedules.  Thank you, Mrs. MacIsaac
