    SUMMERFEST AT A GLANCE -

The fun continues in our childcare program over the summer! Summerfest will be held at the McCarthy Middle School — we are excited to be in this new area and to be able to take advantage of the airconditioned modulars, expanded gym space, and ample outdoor space to play & learn new athletic skills! This year we are focusing on a nagging feeling that many parents have these days, which is “kids these days don’t know how to use their imagination.” This year we are creating a program that will allow children to explore, create and imagine!

We are so excited for Summerfest this year! Back by popular demand are our specialist for Club Time in Taekwondo, art and cooking! We have expanded our STEM projects for both the younger and older children. Possibilities abound in our new location. Impromptu time on the turf field and batting cages may become available. A walk to Sully’s for the older children is an added bonus of this new location. Fun field trips are scheduled for all to participate in again this year. Due to the success of last year we are continuing to have a couple field trips geared towards grade levels.

Registering for Summerfest is done online, but to make the registration process complete, you will also need to fill out additional permission slips etc. which will be made available on our website.

An Informational Night will be held on Wednesday, May 10, from 5:30–7 PM in the cafeteria at the McCarthy Middle School. Registration is done online, however, we will have all the additional forms needed to complete the registration process on hand. Come learn more about the program, the choice board and the fun activities we have planned for the children. Staff will be on hand to answer all your questions.

  • WEEKLY THEMES 2017

    Welcome Back! (June 29-30)

To kick off our fun filled summer of imagination we will be starting the week by exploring all of the Summerfest Stations and activities we have planned. Students will also have the great opportunity to begin forming new friendships this first week. All the students will have the option to go on our gigantic waterslide.

Imagine If You Were A Famous Artist (July 5-7)

This will be a week of exploring forms of artistic expression. We will be creating indoor and outdoor art pieces. Our specialist will be bringing each child a clay figurine that they can paint and take home. In the STEM Lab we will be building mosaic art out of Legos. On Friday afternoon, we will be going on our first swimming trip to Freeman Lake.

Imagine If You Were On Broadway (July 10-14)

Broadway here we come! This week we will be traveling to a Manchester NH, to see Peter Pan! Throughout the week, we will be acting out through different games and activities that release everyone’s “inner” actor or actress. To conclude the week on Friday we will be taking a trip to Freeman Lake to go swimming.

Imagine If You Were A Famous Athlete (July 17-21)

Calling athletes of all levels and abilities…the Summerfest team needs YOU! We will be traveling to the Lowell Spinners to cheer on the home team during their day game! Bring your team spirit! On Friday, we will take our weekly trip to Freeman Lake for swimming.

Imagine If You Found Atlantis (July 24-28)

Have you ever wondered what the lost underwater city would have been like? We will learn more about this famous legend and celebrate everything about the ocean. We will become seafarers as we journey by ferry to Georges Island in Boston! To conclude our week will be traveling to Freeman Lake where we all can become true Atlanteans.

Imagine If You Were Inside A Storybook (July 31-August 4)

Have you ever wondered what Harry Potter would have felt like if he was picked for the Slytherin House? Did you ever consider how fun it would be to play with the monsters in Where the Wild Things Are? This week we will celebrate a different book each day. Throughout the day, the children will participate in games, create art and take part in other activities that allow them to enter the story. This week is filled with adventures. Grades 1-3 will be going to Leda Lanes to bowl, while Grades 4-6 go to Canobie Lake Park (an additional $15 will be charged). On Friday, we take our weekly trip to swim at Freeman Lake.

Imagine If You Were A Chef (August 7-11)

This week the children will be designing menus, decorations and preparing food. Families will enjoy a feast at Summerfest where the children will serve their families a meal they helped prepare! Bring your appetites! On Friday, we take our weekly trip to swim at Freeman Lake.

Imagine If You Were A Famous Scientist (August 14-18)

Parents may need to watch out…this will be a week of potions and spells. The children will spend the week participating in hands-on science and we will travel to the EcoTarium in Worcester to further explore scientific secrets. Also, we will be having the fun Kona Ice Truck return. Concluding our week with our last Friday Freeman Lake trip for swimming of the season.

Imagine If Every Day Were A Celebration (August 21-25)

During the last week at Summerfest we will spend our time celebrating. Be on the lookout for a few surprises, too! All our favorite games and activities will be played-kids choice! We will be celebrating all the way to Roller Kingdom in Tyngsboro. We will have one last hoorah before school begins!
