Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is the leading provider of rigorous and innovative STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education curricular programs used in schools. At CHS the PLTW: Introduction to Engineering (IED) course is offered for the 2017-2018 school year. Students can choose that course now in the online course requests or can see their Guidance Counselor to request this new course for September.
At this time STEM courses at CHS include Robotics (1 Semester), Computer Programming in "C", Introduction to Computer Programming in JAVA (1 Semester) AP Computer Science A as well as Media Internship (1 semester).
The Parker and the McCarthy Middle Schools are offering PLTW’s Gateway To Technology program which engages the natural curiosity and imagination of middle school students while introducing them to engineering, robotics and computer modeling. The Design and Modeling course is taken by all 7th graders for one term each. The Automation and Robotics course is taken by all 8th-grade students for one term.

Sixth-grade computer lab students take a selection of lessons from the LTW: Introduction to Computer Science that will build on skills learned through Code.org and Scratch lessons in K-5 Computer Lab weekly classes.
