    Kindergarten Playground Playdate

If you are an incoming kindergarten family, the PTO will be hosting a “social” for your child’s grade on our school playground. This is an informal event that gives your child a chance to meet students who will be in their class for the 2018-19 school year. The Kindergarten social will be held from 10:00 – 11:00am on Tuesday August 20th. When your child arrives, they will receive a nametag that will have a shape/color in addition to their name, which will show which class they are in. As your child plays on the playground, they can identify other students who will be in their class in the fall. If it rains, there will be a short activity at the same time in the gym. We hope to see you there!

South Row Kind Acts, 2018-19 School Year

We would like to congratulate all South Row students and families for their amazing contributions to our community this year. We completed many kind acts that will have a ripple effect, most of which we will never know. Thank you for your generosity.

SEPTEMBER – Our School participated in “Start with Hello Week”. This week was designed to focus on the power of greeting and building positive relationships with classmates. During this week, we encouraged staff and students to participate in activities to get to know their class and peers. Students participated in many ice breaker games, team building activities, and more. Our staff also developed a “Take What you Need board” where students and staff wrote positive messages on sticky notes which any member of our school community could take. It was such a successful week which also supported Social Emotional Learning.

OCTOBER – We held a successful Coat Drive to support families in need in our community as the winter months approached. These coats were given to Anton’s cleaners, a local cleaner in town, who got the coats in the hands of families in need.

NOVEMBER -  South Row students in all grades made their own hand made cards for Veterans to thank them for their service to our country. Over 400 letters sent to Veterans were very much appreciated.

DECEMBER -  Our school community donated all unclaimed clothing items in the lost and found to Cate’s Closet in Lowell before the start of winter break.

JANUARY -  The South Row School celebrated “Kindness Week” with the “Great Kindness Challenge of 2019” and all students were asked to do a random act of kindness by “paying it forward”. All students were given laminated cards to pass an act of kindness on and were encouraged to share their stories with “Bubbalove” on Instagram. This was in addition to the many kind acts that students completed around the building throughout the week.

FEBRUARY -  All students had the opportunity to write valentines day cards to friends and family.

MARCH -  During our Scholastic Book Fair week, families donated to the Coin Collection Drive, which was a competition among all classrooms to collect the most coins to donate to the Lowell Wish Project.  We raised $2,112.58 and all the money was used to buy books that were donated to the Lowell Wish Project.

APRIL -  We donated countless items of canned goods and several bags of gently used clothing items to the Chelmsford Food Pantry.

MAY – All classrooms donated items to our PTO Spring Fling Basket Raffles. All money raised through this community building event go toward the enrichment programs brought to all South Row students.

JUNE – We donated several large bags full of clothing from our Lost and Found to Cate’s Closet in Lowell.
